Roger C. Beyer, age 86, of Manitowoc died Tuesday evening, February 2, 2016 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

Roger was born on July 14, 1929 in Shawano, son of the late Irvin and Leafy (Halverson) Beyer. On August 2, 1952 Roger married the former Denise M. Dufano at St. Mark Catholic Church in Two Rivers. Over the years Roger worked as a lumber inspector at Hamilton Industries and as an electrician for the Mirro Company. He also worked for Wayne Frank at Frank Radio Service, Inc. Roger was an avid Amateur (Ham) Radio Operator since 1955 using the call W9NPX. Roger volunteered his time in retirement at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. He was also a private pilot building two of his own airplanes. In the past he enjoyed driving stock cars and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Manitowoc Council #710, Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Civil Air Patrol and the EAA. Roger enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their sporting and musical events during their high school years.

Survivors include his wife: Denise Beyer, Manitowoc; his three children: Barbara Beyer, Two Rivers; Sue Miles, Two Rivers and her significant other: Denny Hrdina; Dave Beyer, Two Rivers; three grandchildren: Samantha Beyer; Lee Beyer; Matthew Miles and his fiancée: Tylen Bultema; two step-grandchildren: Jennifer (Aksel) Schnell; Jessica Hrdina; one brother and sister-in-law: Neal "Mitz" (Diane) Beyer, Manitowoc; four sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law: Mary (Ron) Donahue, Richland Center; Mary Ann Dufano, Green Bay; Donna Dufano, Two Rivers; Bernice Dufano, Mableton, GA, many nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Irvin and Leafy Beyer; one daughter-in-law: Lenore Beyer; two brothers: Lyndal Beyer; Gary Beyer; four brothers-in-law: Richard Dufano; William Dufano Jr.; Ray Dufano; Ray Tengowski.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 1122 South 8th Street, Manitowoc. Fr. Dave Timmerman will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations would be appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association.
