US Congressman. He was admitted to the bar in 1868, and commenced law practice in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. In 1887, he was elected as a Democrat to the Fiftieth Congress, serving until 1889. A unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed the practice of law in Wilkes-Barre and served as judge of the court of common pleas from 1892, until his death.
