Alexander French Banks passed away Nov. 7, 1948, at his home, 1821 Brae Burn Road, Altadena. Born in Crawford County, Ind., Jan. 31, 1861, he married Blanche Nicholson, who died in 1934. He retired from the presidency of the Elgin, Joliet & Eastern Ry. in 1931, moving to Pasadena from Chicago. He leaves a daughter, Blanche Alexander; two sons, Duke Nicholson Banks and Charles Ackert Banks; daughters-in-law, Elena Cusicanqui de Banks and Gretchen Kayser Banks; grandchildren, Duke C. Banks, Bernice Banks Lenocker and Alexander French Banks, II; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at 4 p.m. at the Chapel of the Gardens, Mountain View Mausoleum, Altadena. Turner and Stevens Co., directors.
