Lynda S. McCloughan, 78, of Rochester was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away at 4:00 pm, Saturday, October 31, 2020.

On January 3, 1942, Lynda S. Hunter was born in Marshall County. She was the first born of the Hunter girls, the daughter of Nelson and Rosellen "Dixie" Dickson Hunter. Growing up she shared her childhood with three sisters Wanda, Kay and Patsy. In 1960 Lynda graduated from Rochester High School. She then went to Ft. Wayne and studied business at International Business College.

On August 4, 1962, Lynda S. Hunter married Mr. Ted McCloughan at the Silver Creek Church of God. They shared over 58 years of life's adventures. From their union came five wonderful children Kim, Anita, Rod, Brent and Darren. The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of two more generations.

With the migration of their children to Sarasota, Florida, Ted and Lynda moved south to join them and actively participate as Grandpa and Grandma. After 17 years of grandkids, the warm sunshine, sand and surf, they returned home to Fulton County.

Over the years Grandma Lynda crocheted many gifts of warmth for her family. Gifted with her hands she created wedding and bridesmaid dresses and Barbie clothes. She and Ted annually planted a huge garden. Lynda canned the bountiful harvest and also made jelly. She and Ted tackled many remodeling projects over the years, as a team they were home improvement specialists.

The matriarch of the McCloughan family, Grandma Lynda was proud to oversee four generations. She looked forward to celebrating the holidays and special family events, making many memories. Spending time with her family and spoiling the grandchildren were her passions.

Left to cherish Lynda's memory are her children: Kim McCloughan of Sarasota, FL, Anita Shultz (Chris), of Marion, Rod McCloughan (Dyan) Sarasota, FL, Darren McCloughan and companion Mitzi Richardson of Rochester, and special son, Larry Carpenter of Rochester; the grandchildren: Chance McCloughan, Benjamin McCloughan, Tyler Adams, Cameron Adams, Kaitlyn McCloughan, Trevor McCloughan, Drew Shultz (Ashley), Kelsey Shultz and fiance' Dustin Scheiber and Trey Shultz, Kayleigh Richardson, Kelsey Richardson (Chris Lowrykeller) and Jaeda Carpenter; 4 great-grandchildren: Hallelu Adams and Nevaeh Burke, Kaiden Lowrykeller, Shayla Lowrykeller; and 3 sisters: Wanda Wilhelm (Rich) of Macy, Kay Eiler of Mentone, Patsy Rowe and companion Steve Taber of Monticello. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Preceding Lynda in death are her parents, Nelson and Dixie Hunter; beloved husband Ted on August 7, 2020; son Brent McCloughan on November 30, 2007; and grandson Colt McCloughan on November 30, 2003.
