Mayfield, Ky. -- Three Graves County residents, one a four-year-old girl, were killed Tuesday in a two-car traffic accident on Ky. 384 near here.
Trooper Gary West identified the victims as Mrs. Stella M. Carrico, 31, Mayfield Rt.2; her daughter, Michelle (Shelly) Carrico, and Mrs. Nettie H. Langham, 65, Mayfield Rt. 4.
West said Mrs. Carrico was driving west on Ky. 384, also known as the Dublin Road, when the accident occurred at 11:15 a.m. about 4.1 miles west of Mayfield. Mrs. Langham was a passenger in a second car driven by her son, Johnny Langham, 32, Mayfield Rt. 2.
The trooper said Mrs. Carrico's car went out of control and skidded sideways before being struck broadside by the approaching Langham vehicle.
Both Mrs. Langham and Mrs. Carrico were dead on arrival at Mayfield Community Hospital. The youngster was transferred to Lourdes Hospital in Paducah where she died at 1:30 p.m. Langham today was listed in fair condition in intensive care unit at Community Hospital.
Joint services for Mrs. Carrico and her daughter will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph catholic church with the Rev. Louis Secondo officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Mrs. Carrico is surivived by her husband, Tommy Carrico; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Miller, Litchfield; two sons, Thomas and Chris Carrico, and two brothers, David Miller and Lamont Miller, both of Litchfield.
The Carrico girl, in addition to her father, two brothers, and maternal grandparents, also is survived by her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carrico, Mayfield.
Prayers will be said at the Roberts Funeral home at 8 p.m. today.
Services for Mrs. Langham will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hopkins & Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. Austin Prince officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Cemetery.
Mrs. Langham, in addition to her son is survived by her husband, James E. Langham; another son, Jimmy R. Langham of Mayfield Rt. 4,; a brother, James Stuart, Clinton Rt. 2; a sister, Mrs. Ada Fritts, Dacatur, Ill., and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
