Mr. George Bethel passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Friday, November 6, 2020. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 10 at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Monday, November 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. They respectfully ask that each guest wear a mask.
Mr. George was born February 16, 1954, in Borger to W.J. and Betty Jane Smith Bethel. He was a lifetime resident of Borger. He loved to play the piano and organ, enjoyed traveling , and loved clothes. Mr. George was a long time hairdresser in Borger which he loved very much. He was a talker and especially loved to talk with his friends, family, and his patrons. When he was young, Mr. George traveled to Russia with a group to deliver bibles to the Russian people.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents , and great niece, Berkley [sic].
Mr. George is loving remembered by his sisters, Linda Roden and husband, Travis of Borger, and Kay Thomas and husband, David of Little River, Kansas; nieces and nephews, Tammy, Tanya, Jeremy, Derek, and Hunter; his great-nieces Tesica, Tanley, and Breckyn; and his friend Shane.
The family requests that he be honored with a memorial to the Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice of the Southwest, 5211 SW 9th, St., Ste. 100, Amarillo, TX 79106.
