Oscar "Papa Joe" Barlow, 73, of Crenshaw died Monday, September 5, 2005 at his residence. He was a member of the Crenshaw Fire Department, a Master Mason, a Veteran of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and a member of the Crenshaw Baptist Church. Services were held Thursday, September 8 at Crenshaw Baptist Church with interment at Longtown Cemetery in Longtown, MS. Reverend Clint Harris officiated. Pallbearers were Sammy Duncan, Johnny Towery, Tommy Gurley, Justin Towery, Zac Gurley and Lee Duncan. Honarary pallbearers were J.C. Bradley and James Wright.
Mr. Barlow is survived by his wife, Betty S. Barlow of Crenshaw; one daughter, Sissy Hudspeth and her husband Bo of Crenshaw, MS; one son, Oscar Barlow Jr. and his wife Heather of Crenshaw, MS; three sisters, Lillian Barrett of Saltillo, MS Marie Moore of Angleton, TX and Gladys Crenshaw of Water Valley, MS; two brothers, Sherell Barlow of Eads,TN and Joe Tennett of Memphis, TN; his special niece, Patricia Lewallen; his special nephew, Raymond Lewallen; his special sister-in-law, Donna Barlow; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
