Deceased Name: William Hajduk

William Robert Hajduk, 87, of Round Lake Park, died June 23 at his home. A 40-year resident of Northbrook, he recently moved to Saddlebrook Farms.

Mr. Hajduk was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army 10th Engineers, 3rd Division, in North Africa and Eurpe. He worked for the Village of Winnetka for many years as a Field Foreman and was a member of American Legion Post 714 of Northbrook.

He wed Elizabeth Agnes Michelau on June 1, 1946, at St. Gilbert Church in Grayslake. She preceded him in death in 1987.

He is survived by one son, Barry of Lake Villa; two daughters, Catherine (Len) Kula of Grayslake and Marilee (Mike) Berg of West Dundee; 10 grandchildren, Wendy (Brice) Green, Sharon (Mark) Maciejewski, Kevin and Heather Hajduk, Ray, Jeff and Jeremy Hajduk, and Ryan, Nicole and Mike Berg; six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his caregiver, Donna Kalinowska. In addition to his wife, Mr. Hajduk was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, John W. Hajduk and William R. Hajduk; two sisters, Dorothy Beloian and Sue Behrens; and one brother, Edward Hajduk.

A funeral Mass was offered June 26 at St. Gilbert Church in Grayslake. Interment was in Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville. Funeral arrangements were handled by Strang Funeral Chapel of Grayslake.
