Edward Barrett was a regular contributor of poetry from his own pen to the Sentinel and Witness and the Penny Press. He was employed for many years at the foundry of the Stiles & Parker Press Company. He died at the home of his son, Robert Barrett, in Brooklyn, New York and is buried in the family plot in St. Johns Cemetery.
