Clarence A. Denton, local contractor
Clarence Alva Denton, 63, of Mountain Home, died Saturday at his residence. He was a self-employed building contractor of C.A. Denton Builders and a member of the Baptist Church. Mr. Denton was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of eagles Aerie No. 3183 in Midway.
A native of Baxter County, Mr. Denton was born April 7, 1915 in Oakland, to the former Mirtie Lewis and the late Dolph Denton. He was married June 17, 1937 in Gainesville, Mo., to the former Emma Queary.
Survivors include his wife of the home; his mother of Mountain Home; one brother, Ralph Denton of Mountain Home; two sisters, Lura Reiss of Springfield, Mo., and Nevel Turner of Nevada, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Dean Denton, in 1976 and his father.
Funeral services were held Monday at Roller Funeral Chapel in Mountain Home, officiated by Rev. Estell Grigg of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church.
Pallbearers were Dick Hatcher, D.Q. Perna, Troy Trucker, Ray Smith, George Smith and Bob stafford.
Interment took place at Baxter Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
