Carole L. Frye
NORTH SIOUX CITY -- Carole L. "Kate" Frye, 73, of North Sioux City passed away Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Riverside Lutheran Church, with the Revs. Charles B. Wolff and Merrill Muller officiating. Burial will be in McCook Lake Cemetery, North Sioux City. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.
Carole was born Nov. 6, 1933, in Jefferson, S.D., the daughter of George and Effie (Huffman) Clay. She was united in marriage to Orville Frye on Oct. 6, 1956. Together, they made their home in North Sioux City. Orville died May 24, 1996.
She was a member of the South Sioux City Eagles Club, where she was also employed for 20 years. She enjoyed cooking for her family, working and playing bingo.
Survivors include two daughters, Renee Crippen and Ramona Plantenberg, both of North Sioux City; three sons, Huck Frye and his wife, Gina, Ernest Frye and Hector Frye, all of Sioux City; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several stepchildren and grandchildren; a brother, James Clay of Dakota Dunes, S.D.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four brothers; and three sisters.
Pallbearers will be Travis Crippen, Kyle Frye, Willie Bowes Jr., Jacob Frye, Derek Frye and Jerry Frericks. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Grant, Jerry Beavers and Jason Bladwin.
