Allen attended Hillside Grove School and Kiel High School. He was a proud member of the U.S. Army, serving with the 32nd Division. Allen worked for many years at Leverenz Shoe Company until they closed. He held a couple different jobs throughout the area and was know for bartending in School Hill and Rhine Center. He was a member of Bethlehem UCC. In his free time he enjoyed listening to German waltz's and polka music which lead to him becoming an avid collector of radios and other electronics. His greatest joy was photography. He combined his love of photography & travel and took many trips to Colorado or South Dakota to photograph all the scenery. He started a 3D camera club and also enjoyed taking those types of photos. Allen considered himself a car guy and was especially proud of his 1965 Mustang Fastback.
Survivors include two cousins; Everett (Helen) Hennings and Doris Mae (Merlin) Ninmer. He is further survived by other relatives and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother; Myron.
A graveside service for Allen will be held on Monday, November 16, 2020 at 11:00am at Bethlehem UCC Cemetery, Town of Schleswig. Family and friends are asked to gather shortly before 11:00am at the cemetery.
