His leadership development made many fine soldiers who carried those skills until their retirement. 1SG Art was then deployed to Operation Reforger in Germany where his skills as a top rated sergeant proved excellent as he played many roles to get the job done. After returning home in 1986 from Germany, he then continued making young men into soldiers until he felt his job was complete. He retired in 1990, but was recalled and ordered to active duty in support of Operation Desert Shield / Desert Storm where he was assigned to HQ CO, USAS Fort McCoy, WI. 'Cause here on earth it feels like

Everything good is missing since you left

And here on earth everything's different

There's an emptiness

Oh, oh, I

I hope you're dancing in the sky

And I hope you're singing in the angel's choir

And I hope the angels know what they have

I'll bet it's so nice up in heaven since you arrived

Since you arrived
