President of Nicaragua. A member of a prominent family of Managua, Solórzano served briefly in the cabinet of President Bartolomé Martínez. In 1924 he was elected President of Nicaragua, serving from 1925 until 1926 when he was overthrown by former President Emiliano Chamorro Vargas. Fleeing to the United States in exile, he later moved to Costa Rica where he died of a sudden heart attack. He was the brother of Nicaraguan Vice President Fernando Solórzano.
