Joyce Nell Harvell age 83, of Arab left this walk of life for her Heavenly Home on Sunday November 15, 2020. Nell was born on Jan. 19, 1937, in Marshall County, AL the Daughter of Artis and Essie Landers Roberts. Nell and Ray Harvell were married for 64 years before his death on June 6, 2018. She was a successful businesswoman for over 60 years as a Cosmetologist. She started at the Charm Beauty Shop, then operated the Beauty Bungalow for many years. For the last several years she had worked at Barbara’s Hair Design. She enjoyed working and loved all of her clients. Nell was a breast cancer survivor of 50 plus years and loved life and loved her family and friends. She is described as a “Prankster Extraordinaire”, Renowned Apple Pie Maker and the Best Mom Ever, by her family and friends. She was also known as an Amateur Singer and well known for her renditions of Delta Dawn and Happy Birthday. She was a faithful lifelong member of Grassy Church of Christ. Survivors include her Son and Daughter in law: David and Rita Harvell of Somerville; Daughter in law and Spouse: Kay and Dan Woodruff of Arab; Sister: Ada Smith of Dade City, FL; Grandsons: Blake Harvell of Washington and Bryan and Wife, Brooke Harvell of Hanceville; Great Granddaughter: Dahlia Harvell of Arab; Special Grandson: Piper R. Harvell and Special Great Grandson: Tom-Tom Harvell; Very Special Sister Friends: Elaine Copeland and Barbara Hyatt. She was preceded in death by her Husband: Ray Harvell; Beloved Son: Danny Harvell; Parents: Artis and Essie Landers Roberts; Brothers: Wilburn Roberts, Garland Roberts and Harold Roberts. Funeral Service will be Wednesday November 18, 2020, at 12 PM at Grassy Church of Christ with Bro. James Dudley, Bro. Jeff Goodwin and Bro. Tony Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery with Bro. James Sharpe officiating the Graveside Committal Service. Visitation will be Tues. from 6-8 PM at Gober Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Harvell’s body will lie in state at the Church from 11 AM until 12 PM. Pallbearers will be: Bryan Harvell, Steve Harvell, Jim Roberts, Ken Reisenweber, Ron Hyatt and Tim Brockwell. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Richard Langston, Dan Woodruff, Tim Hyatt and Delbert Copeland.
