Dudley Joseph Lagemann was born to the late Joseph Lagemann and Marjorie Shields Lagemann on May 16, 1935 in Louisa, LA and later moved to Houston, TX for a period of time.
On August 25, 1960, he was united in marriage to Thelma Ward and to this union God blessed them with two children.
Dudley loved all of his family and friends, he enjoyed cracking jokes and making everyone laugh. his favorite response to someone asking him how he was doing was "Fine and dandy just like chewing gum, popcorn, and candy".
Dudley accepted Christ and was baptized into the faith at Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Ulysses Mitchell. He attended church services regularly until his health began to fail.
Dudley worked as a welder and ship fitter at Service Marine Industries until the yard closed in 1997. Upon retiring in 1997 he proudly proclaimed, "I FOUND THE GUN TO KILL WORK!!!"
Dudley departed his earthly life on Friday, June 24, 2016 at 6:26pm at his home surrounded by his family.
Dudley leaves with cherished memories his wife of 55 years, Thelma Lagemann, two children Tyrone Joseph Lagemann (Amanda) of St,. Martinville, LA and Yvonne Marie Jackson (Michael) of Houston, TX; two grandsons; one great-granddaughter; four uncles, Frank, Harold, and Charles Lagemann of Baldwin, LA, and Lawrence Lagemann of Los Angeles, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends that he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death parents, and sister, Ora Mae Prince.
