Died yesterday morning at 7 o'clock at the home of his brother-in-law in Post street, Monaghan mill village. Mr. Grover Cleveland Smith after a long illness of dropsy, in the 24th year of his age.
Mr. Smith was the youngest of 16 children born to Mr. and Mrs. J.O. Smith, who moved here from Pickens county just after Monaghan mills were built. He is survived by his mother, who is 75 years old, three brothers and three sisters.
His remains will be taken this morning to Easley and will be buried in Enon Baptist church cemetery nearby. The family have the sympathy of the entire community. The body was enbalmed and prepared for burial by the Greenville Undertaking Co.
