Sue A. Argo, 83, of Petersburg, IL, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 5:30 AM at Lewis Memorial Christian Village in Springfield, IL.
She was born on April 15, 1937 in Eldorado, IL the daughter of Joseph Arthur and Vera (Gaines) Coontz. She married Vernon A. “Vern” Argo in Springfield, IL on March 6, 1965. They were married for over 50 years before he preceded her in death on January 15, 2018.
Sue is survived by her daughter, Verna Rightnowar (Argo); six grandchildren, Sydney and Samantha Argo; Evan, Emma, Ella and Eden Rightnowar; one nephew, Drew Coontz and one brother, David (Deborah) Coontz.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Joe Argo.
Sue was a member of the Rock Creek Presbyterian Church in Tallula, IL. She graduated from Eldorado High School in 1955, then attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale where she received her Bachelors Degree. She was a teacher in Springfield at Hayward School, Pleasant Plains, and was a substitute teacher for Petersburg before retiring. Sue also ran the office for the family farm.
A private family service will be held for Sue at a later date. Pastor Joanne Hinds will officiate. Burial will follow at Walkers Grove Cemetery in Easton, IL. Memorials may be made to Rock Creek Presbyterian Church.
