Patrick J. Gaughan Jr. 83, Indianapolis, passed away Monday, October 1, 2007. He was born May 14, 1924 in Indianapolis to Patrick and Delia M. (Conway) Gaughan.

He graduated from Arsenal Technical High School and was a WWII Army veteran. Pat worked for NY Central Railroad after he returned home from the service. He then worked as a police officer for the Indianapolis Police Department for twenty years before retiring and beginning a new career with Indiana Bell where he worked for over twenty years.

Pat was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 86, American Legion Post 88, Kevin Barry Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Telephone Pioneers of America and the Knights of Columbus Council 3660.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sally C. O'Brien Gaughan and his second wife, Sarah L. "Sally" Osborne Gaughan. ;He is survived by his sisters, Rose A. Johnson, Mary E. Allen, Jane E. O'Malia and Helen Dale; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
