Charlotte V.C. Greenup (c1801-) married in 1830, Nathaniel Pope Hunter (c1800-), in Jefferson County, Fla. His mother was probably a daughter of Nathaniel Pope IV. He was overseer on the plantation of Achille Murat, nephew of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. Their five children were Susan Catherine (c1831-); Grattan Gamble (c1832-); twins Pope and Greenup; and Nancy Gamble Hunter (1838-1912) who married Daniel B. McArn (1809-67) and lived in Cheraw, S.C. Children of the latter marriage were Daniel Hunter (1862-1947), Charlotte, and Presbyterian minister Dr. Archibald Hugh McArn (1865-1958)(Davidson 1883)(Princeton Theo 188_). The latter married Mary Coit Malloy (1874-1918), and their children were Theodore Archibald (1895-1971) who married Wilhelmina A. (c1907-) and had Archibald H. McArn (c1927-); Daniel Hunter (1896-1976); and Lois G. McArn (1906-97).

Daniel Hunter McArn (1862-1947) married Carrie A. Munroe (1868-1940), daughter of Hugh A. (1821-80) and Caroline Matilda Wooten Munroe (1836-1920). Six children were Nancy Hunter (1891-1974) who married Harry Winthrop Malloy (1892-1967); Hugh Munroe (1892-1973); Donald Gratton (1894-1966); Kenneth Hunter (1896-1918) who married Eliza Jane Deariso (1879-1935); Presbyterian minister Rev. Archibald Douglas (1898-1980) who married Mary Sullivan (1904-86); and May P. McArn (1901-93) who married John Lafayette Ashby (1898-1984).

Hugh Munroe McArn (1892-1973) married Marie Covington (1894-1979) and lived in Laurinburg, NC. Three children were Dr. Hugh Munroe, Jr. (1924-2015)(Davidson 1949)(Duke M.D. 1953) who served in the Marine Corps in WWII, 1943-45, and married in 1953, Mary Susan Crump; Jean who married a Horton; and Col. Kenneth Hunter McArn (1927-2013)(Davidson 1949) who served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam and was a pilot in the Air Force. He married Peggy, and four children were Karen, Erin, Hunter, and Heather McArn.
