Marvin Sherrill Barefoot, 85, passed away Saturday. A native of Harnett County, he was the son of the late Marvin and Gladys Norris Barefoot. After serving in France while in the U.S. Army, Sherrill drove for Trailways for 35 years. He is a past president of the Good Sam’s RV Club. He was a longtime member of the William T. Bain Masonic Lodge and was a proud contributor to help build the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.
A graveside service will take place 1:00 PM Tuesday at Montlawn Memorial Park.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife of 30 years, Darlene Barefoot; sister, Reba Pearl Young; brother-in-law Oneil (Teeny) Young.
He is survived by his nephews, Ricky Young and wife, Betty Jo, Terry Young and wife, Kathy, both of Benson.
