Beloved wife of James Stauffer, mother to Mark Stauffer, Brenda Weber (John), Carol Peter (Mark), “Gram” to ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, and twin sister of Christine Johnsey (Richard). Clara was preceded in death by her father, Carl Nelson, her mother, Clara (Hern) Nelson, and her sister, Betty Matthews (Gary).
Clara was born and raised in La Plata, Missouri, attended La Plata High School and received her degree as an RN from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. Her nursing career took her to Jefferson Barracks V.A. Hospital in St. Louis, Oakland V.A. Hospital in Oakland, CA, Abington Hospital in Abington, PA, and finally to Edgehill Nursing Home in North Hills, PA before she retired to Anderson, SC in 1987. Clara, better known to family and friends as “Carleen”, enjoyed traveling, camping, and singing. She attended Asbury Baptist Church in Anderson where she sang in the choir for many years.
Memorial service information is pending. Clara will be interned at White Marsh Memorial Park in Ambler, PA.
