Anna Lee Head Witkowski, 93, passed away Monday, Nov. 16, 2020, at Harbor Healthcare and Rehab in Lewes. She was born March 1, 1927, in Wise County, Va., to Orbin and Mazy Rebecca Smith Sturgill. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Master Sgt. Roy E. Head in 1951 after being held as a POW during the Korean War, and her second husband, Walter J. Witkowski in 2016. She was the youngest of 10 children, who also preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory are her many loving nieces and nephews, and a stepdaughter, with whom she kept in touch, all either by phone or email. Also, she leaves behind her loyal best friend and neighbor, Mrs. Francis Muniz.
Anna was a cosmetologist where she worked as a hairdresser for many years when she lived in Glen Burnie, Md. She loved her dogs and had many over the years.
Her wishes were to be cremated and her remains will be laid to rest beside her first husband, Roy E. Head, in the Head Family Cemetery in Clinchport, Va. A memorial service will be scheduled at a future date.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.
