Martha was the twin sister to Mary Barnes; d/o William Barnes and Theodocia Naillon born in Naillontown, Cocke Co., Tennessee. About 1899, she, her mother and siblings moved out to Kane Co., UT. She first married Louis F. Soderberg on 22 Jul 1907, in Richfield, Sevier, Utah. They had 1 child together, but the marriage was short lived and by 1910, Martha "divorced" and daughter were "lodgers" at the Oscar Haynes household in Randlett, Utah. She met John M. Jones and they married on 26 Jul 1910 in Vernal, Uintah Co., Utah. Sometime before 1920, they moved back east and settled in Harps Mill, Chattahoochee, Georgia with her daughter. Martha was very close with her only child Wanda and during the 1930 census, she and her husband move in with her daughter's family in Washington Co., Tennessee. This is her last known residence before she died.
