Born September 22, 1937 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Lee Roy & Elsie May (Hoover) Eckel.
Beverly was a graduate of Hagerstown High School, Class of 1955. She began a career as an Administrative Secretary at Veteran’s Hospital, Martinsburg, WV, retiring in 1994 after 28 years of service.
She is survived by her brothers, James L. Eckel and Gordon E. Eckel; sister, Mary Arlene Embly; stepson, Lester F. Alkire and family; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph E. Metzer, second husband, Lester B. Durst, and her sister, Norma L. Staley.
