Breckenridge, Texas - Bill Hamilton, 82, of Breckenridge, died Sunday, September 30, 2007, at Hendrick Medical Center.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Cecil Harper, Rev. Brian Lambert and Rev. Andrew Channer officiating. Burial will follow in the Post Oak Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, from 6 to 7:30 pm.

William Everett Hamilton was born on April 14, 1925, in Electra, Texas, to parents Frank Hamilton and Mattie Finch Hamilton. As a young child, Bill moved to Breckenridge with his family. He served in the United States Army during WWII. While in the Army, Bill was a buck sergeant and a section chief, serving in the European Theater. Bill married Emma Joyce Blue on October 26, 1946, in Eastland. After 47 years of marriage, Emma preceded him in death on November 8, 1993. He later married Marcy Wilson on August 25, 1994, in Breckenridge. Bill retired after 47 years of operating his company, Bill Hamilton Oilfield Construction. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he attended the Roughneck Bible Class and participated in Triple LLL activities; and he had been a past member of Shelton Avenue Baptist Church and Tabernacle Baptist Church. Bill was an avid golfer and a member of the Breckenridge Golf Club.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Joyce, one brother, Frank Hamilton Jr.; and three sisters, Carolyn Prentice, Fannie Andrews and Ester Montgomery.

Bill is survived by his wife, Marcy Hamilton of Breckenridge; one daughter, Linda and husband, Bob Sims of Breckenridge; one son, Buddy Hamilton and wife, Priscilia of Snyder; two step-daughters, Suzie and husband, Bob Womble of Morse and Nicki St. Clair of Euless; one brother, Charles Hamilton and wife, Betty of Watauga; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren.
