HANOVER Eugene Jacob Kessler, 75, entered into God's eternal care Fri day morning, September 21, 2007, at his home. Eugene was the loving husband of Betty V. (Caldwell) Kessler, to whom he was married 50 years. Born July 14, 1932, in Hanover, he was the son of the late Luther Titus and Sadie Elberta (Smith) Kessler. Mr. Kessler retired from York International in 1994 after 28 years of service as an assembler. He enjoyed fishing and horse racing in his spare time. In addition to his wife, Betty, Eugene is survived by one son, Charles E. Bechtel of New Oxford; five grandchildren, Joshua, Zachary, Abigail, Jonathon, and Kassandra; one stepgrandson, Rich Hoff; and one sister, Arlene M. Wildasin of Hanover. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert L. Kessler and Wilmer F. Kessler. A service to celebrate and remember Eugene will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2007, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick St., Hanover, with the Rev. Gary Tryon officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. A viewing and time to share memories with the family will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Serving as casketbearers will be Rich Hoff, Scott Renoll, Eric Laughman, Ray Sterner, and Charles Bechtel.
