Gunhild J. Frewin, 87, Rockford died at 6 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2005, in Provena St. Anne Center. Born June 27, 1917, in Ruthven, Iowa, the daughter of Gust and Anna Marie (Hallberg) Thim. She attended Ruthven schools, graduating in 1936, and then attended Mankato (Minn.) Commercial School. Gunhild married Patrick Frewin on Feb. 24, 1968; he died May 10, 1987. Her later years were spent working in Lake Forest; she retired in 1996. Survivors include son, James (Susan) Strom; grandson, John Strom; granddaughters, Mary Madura and Sara; two great-granddaughters; niece, Yvonne Bales; nephew, Rodney Thim. Also predeceased by sisters, Marie, Anna and Elsa; and brothers, Harry and Gunnar.
Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 15, in Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1803 N. Rockton Ave., with visitation from 10 to 10:30 a.m.; the Rev. Richard Likeness will be officiating. Interment in Willwood Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. Arrangements by Fred C.
