Katherine Cameron was born in Millbrooke, Hampshire, England. The daughter of Col. Duncan Cameron of the 79th Highlanders (who fought at the Battle of Waterloo) and Katherine Baillie.
On 7 Feb. 1850, she married Henry Youle Hind and they had 7 children. They moved to Windsor Nova Scotia in 1866 and lived in the house called “Sunnyside” at Curry’s Corner on Kings Rd in Windsor. She died on April 10, 1909.
