Billy Granville Allen, age 87, of Palestine passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Palestine Regional Medical Center. He was born in Crockett, Texas on June 8, 1933 to Frank and Viola Allen.
Mr. Allen served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired mechanic. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.
Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edith Eloise Dickey Allen; siblings: Perry Allen, Harold Allen and wife Betty, Horace Allen and wife Murel, Doris Jackson and husband Charlie "Buck" Jackson, and great-grandson, Asher Wedin.
He is survived by his sister, Frankie Gallant and her husband George; sister-in-law, Billie Jean Allen; son, Billy Allen and his wife Sherry of Palestine; daughter, Lori Allen Curry and her husband Mike of Belott; grandchildren: Jennifer Jenkins and husband Dwayne of Arkansas, Nathan Allen of Fort Worth, Cristy Stanley and husband Brian of Montgomery, Tammie Wedin and husband Billy of Palestine, Faith Horne and husband Marcus of Crockett, Joy Jenkins and husband Jeremy of Grapeland, Andrew Curry and wife Amanda of Crockett, Grace Gutierrez and husband Justin of Linden, Ann Sahjian and husband Mike of Tennessee; great-grandchildren: Britney and Halle Jenkins, Emily and Nicholas Allen, Chloe Moore, Peyton, Parker and Savannah Lee Stanley, Melanie, Rex, Gabriel, Lori Mae, Eveyln and Cora Jenkins, Nate, Leah and Triston Horne, and Benaiah Gutierrez.
Family and friends are invited for visitation on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home.
Military graveside services will be held at Guiceland Cemetery in Grapeland on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 2:00pm.
