Services for Mr. James Matthew Acklen, 213 West End, Dickson, will be held Thursday afternoon, Septembeer 30, 1971, at 2 o'clock at Dickson Funeral Home, conducted by Clyde Hudson, with burial in Potts Cemetery.

Mr. Acklen died Thursday morning, September 28, at his his home. He was a native of Franklin County, son of the late Matthew and Ida Hastings Acklen. He was retired from the Detroit Police Correction Department and was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Nellie Sue Gilmore Acklen of Dickson; three sons, Randy A. Acklen of Dickson, Roy Neal Acklen of Ohio, and Jim Acklen of Arlington, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Grammer, Mrs. Carrie Hudson, and Mrs. Leora Morris, all of Winchester, Tennessee; three brothers, Clarence Acklen and Woodard Acklen, both of Winchester, Tennessee, and Charles Acklen of Riverview, Michigan.
