Gilbert Ozias Delaney, formerly of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Tuesday at Iroquois Nursing Home. He was 94 years old. A proud WWII veteran, he and his beloved wife, Helen, enjoyed their retirement years on Anna Maria Island, Florida; at their camp on Kasoag Lake, NY; and with their families in Syracuse and Texas.
He was predeceased in 2012 by his wife of 42 years, Helen (Kuhles) Delaney. He is survived by three children, Michael (Nadine) Delaney of Amsterdam, NY, Mark Delaney (Sue Hopkins) of Marcellus and Kim (John) Kratz of Mattydale; six stepchildren, Dennis (Cathy L) Kuhles of Florida, Douglas (Cathy) and Donald Kuhles of Texas, Jackie (Bob) Clary, Debbie (Bob) Tolone and Darryl (Jeannine) Kuhles of Syracuse; his brother, Ernie Delaney of E. Syracuse and sister, Betty Kaulback of Pennellville; several beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Gilbert was proud to donate his remains to the SUNY Health Sciences Center. There will be no calling hours; however, the family will arrange a memorial service at a later date. Burial will be private. Contributions may be made in Gil's name to Meals on Wheels of Syracuse, 300 Burt St., Syracuse, NY 13202.
