Abijah Ely Applegate, husband of Eva Wright Applegate, died on Tuesday, March 16, 1948, at his home at 216 North Main street, Hightstown. He was 83 years old. In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ariel P. Lee, of Bethlehem, Pa.; two brothers, Dr. E. T. R. Applegate, of Morrisville, and Thomas E. Applegate, of Hightstown, and a sister, Mrs. J. VanBuren Wicoff, of Plainsboro. Funeral services were held today (Thursday) at 4 p. m. at his home, conducted by the Rev. Powell H. Norton. Interment was in Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Norman T. Peppler.
