She was born on January 31, 1943 in Odon, Indiana to Eura Lewis and Maggie Bell (Ryckman) Matthew. Hazel married Charles Robbins on May 25, 1962. She was an adventurous spirit, she loved to travel to Tennessee and see the mountains, have fun at the casino, and go boating on the Ohio River. Hazel loved her family most of all and spending time with them. She was a member of the Christian Faith. She worked at Yo-Yo’s Daycare in Washington helping with the children for over 10 years.
Hazel is preceded by her parents Eura and Maggie, her siblings; George Matthew, Paul Matthew, Betty Kaye Matthew, and several half siblings.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Charles Junior Robbins of Alfordsville, Anita Clauss (Bill Norman) of Shoals, Lisa Humbert (Robbie Roberts) of Cannelton, Indiana, Patty (Gary) Dorsey of Washington, her grandchildren; Chris and Zachary Clauss, Trenton Humbert, Cameron Hawes, T.J Hill, her great- grandchildren, Zaos Clauss, Alton Clauss, several step- grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, one brother Keith Matthew of Washington, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday September 4, 2018 at 10:00 A.M officiated by Pastor Marty Evans at Blake Funeral Home is Loogootee. Burial will follow at Alfordsville Community Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Monday September 3, 2018 from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M on Monday September 3, 2018 at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
