Clara E. Cox Jackson was born in a place called Animas, Rio Arriba, NM., not Hidalgo Co. On a census record, the place of census taking, was Mouth of Animas River. That place is now called Farmington, San Juan, NM.

Clara was born to John Shriver and Eliza Jane Smith Cox. She had a sister, Eliza Jane, a sister, Elizabeth L and brother Alexander, whom were twins. After they moved to Gila Co., AZ, she met and married John Freeman Jackson. He was a cowboy at that time. They were married Aug. 3, 1907, in Payson, AZ.

Their daughter Annie Clara was born to them on Mar. 13, 1908. In April of 1910, Clara and Annie were living in Flagstaff, AZ., where she went to work for the Tidmore family, as housekeeper. Her father and husband were working for William Young of Pleasant Valley.

While in Flagstaff, Clara became ill and passed away with in seven days. Their daughter was sent to Globe to live with relatives. Clara is buried in Holbrook where her brother-in-law, Hugo A. Larson and his first wife Christina are buried.

Hugo married Clara's sister Eliza Jane after loosing Christina. John remarried and is buried in the Young Cemetery, Young, AZ. John was my grandmother Lydia Jackson Brown's brother.
