Upon marrying, they moved to Oak Ridge, Tn. where Bruce worked at K-25 as an electrical engineer for Union Carbide. They made many friends and had 5 children together. Two of their children passed away at very young ages. Three of the children gave them grandchildren and a great grandson whom they were very proud of.
Muriel will long be remembered for her outgoing personality and her love for children. She was a founder and teacher at Chapel on the Hill preschool for over 20 years. Additionally, she was an excellent cook and hostess and enjoyed company any day of the week.
Her faith was the anchor for the family and she reached out with love and compassion to everyone she knew. Although she is now reunited with her heavenly family, she has left a spot that can never be replaced.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce J. Bogardus. Also by her daughter, Jayne Ellen Bogardus, infant son, Bruce Allen, and son, Raymond Bruce Bogardus.
She leaves behind her daughters and their husbands; Dave and Amy Smith of Farragut, TN. and Tim and Sarah Waddell of Oak Ridge, Tn.
As well as her grandchildren, Tim Bogardus of Tahoe City, CA. , Ben Vest of Brooklyn, N.Y., Lauren Vest of Nashville, Tn. Jonathan Vest of Nashville, Tn. Molly Waddell of Knoxville, Tn and Ryan Waddell of Denver, Co.
Family and friends will meet for a graveside service on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Noon at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Pastor Tom Job will officiate.
