Born in Detroit to Walter Milton Parker Jr. (1893-1954) and Charlotte Maire (1892-1979), who were married on 7 December 1921 in Detroit, Michigan, and the older sister of Charlotte Frances Parker-Pattison (1926-1980).

Art student at Columbia University in the early 1940s. The first wife of Jack Kerouac (m. 22 Aug 1944; annulled Sep 1949; Archdiocese invalidated Apr 1952). Michigan State University Horticulture student for one semester in Fall 1948. Local Metro Detroit area lecturer and writer in the 1980s and early 1990s.
