Colonel Harry W. Gabriel,Chaplin passed away peacefully with his family beside him on Sept. 30th,2007. He was a chaplin of CherryWood Village retirement center,from 1992-present. He loved to give a helping hand to anyone who needed it, he had a sense of humor, and kindness.
He married Sallyann in 1961, they had three children and two grandchildren.
He had many interests some where long relationship with the military, culminating in the Chaplin rising to the rank of Colonel in the Oregon State Defense Force. He enjoyed toastmasters, the Mazamas and of course his loving family.
He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and giving and will be remembered with a smile on his face and his famous saying"God love you!"
Funeral service was at 11 a.m. Oct. 1st in Sunnyside Seventh-day Adventist Church. Private burial was at Willamite national cemetery.
