Wayne D King, 71, Marion, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at Marion General Hospital. He was born in South Bend, Indiana, on Wednesday, February 9, 1949, to Samuel King and Joyce (Leavitt) King Caroll. On July 22, 1978 he married Paula Goble, who survives.

Wayne attended Fairmont High School and worked at Owens Illinois, Wesleyan Press, Active Products, and retired from Wesleyan Health Care as a maintenance supervisor after 30 years of service.

He was a member of Southside Wesleyan Church, Fairmount Sons of the Legion, and Gold Star Family. Wayne loved hunting, fishing and enjoyed playing video games. He loved working on things and loved to be needed. He loved going to his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. More than anything, he loved his family. He was loved by many and a second dad to many.

Along with his wife, survivors also include his children, Joseph King of Marion, Maryann (Jim) Myers of Portland, Rex Aaron (Julie) King of Gas City, Randy King of Kentucky, Adrian (Scott) Kowalsky of Amboy, Robin (Stacy) Cooper of La Fontaine, Kenneth (Natasha) King of Marion, and Troy Nelson of Fairmount; sisters, Patricia (Kenny) Kelly, Jenny (Byron) George, Priscilla (Marc) Schultz; brother, Samuel King; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Wayne Shriner,Carol King, Cindy King, Kevin (Jeannie) Goble, Pam (Don) Nash, Diana Dile, Kay (Ron) Martin; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel King; mother, Joyce (Orville Gene) Caroll; mother-in-law, Elizabeth A. Goble; sisters, Dixie King Hubber, Samia Shriner, Tammy Harms, Tonya Cowgill; brothers, Ray King, Randy King, Mike Caroll, Patrick Caroll; and sons, Phillip King, and Staff Sgt. Bradley King.

The family will receive visitors from 4 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 and from 10 am to 11 am on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Southside Wesleyan Church 312 E. S. "E" St., Gas City, IN.

A funeral service to celebrate Wayne's life will be held at 11am on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at the church. Pastor Brent Miller will be officiating with burial following at Riverside Cemetery in Gas City.
