RAVENSWOOD - Elva Gwendolyn May Anderson, 87, of Ravenswood, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2007, at Ravenswood Village.
She was born December 17, 1919, at Swansdale in Clay County, WV, a daughter of the late Dwight A. May and Kathryn Starcher Finch. She was a beautician and missionary for 16 years and was a member of the Second Baptist Church, Ravenswood.
Survivors include her son Garrison Anderson of Texas City, TX; grandsons Jason and Brian Anderson of Phoenix, AZ; two great-grandsons; brothers Bob Finch of Nitro and Ellis Finch of Scott Depot and sisters Kitty Lyons of Hurricane and Wanda Guinn of Florida.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edwin Anderson and two brothers.
Services were held Saturday, October 6, 2007, at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with Pastor Richard Parsons officiating. Burial followed in Grandview Cemetery, Dunbar.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Missionary Fund at the Second Baptist Church, Ann and Elwood Streets, Ravenswood, WV 26164.
