Professional Baseball Player. He played in the Negro Leagues during the 1920s, and 1930s. He was born one of five children as Milfred Stephen Laurent to Paul Laurent (1865-1941), and his wife Augustine Sarazin Laurent (1876-), in New Orleans, Louisiana, on December 26, 1901. He played the position of second baseman, outfielder, and third baseman with the New Orleans Crescent Stars making his professional debut with them in 1921. The 5'10" and 180lbs second baseman, outfielder, and third baseman who batted right and threw right played with the New Orleans Crescent Stars through to 1922. He also played with the New Orleans Ads, the New Orleans Black Pelicans, the Nashville Elite Giants in 1927, the Memphis Red Sox from 1928 to 1930, the Birmingham Black Barons, the Cleveland Cubs, the Nashville Elite Giants in 1932, the Birmingham Black Barons in 1932, and the New Orleans Crescent Stars from 1933 to 1937. His 162 Game Average consisted of 191 Games Played, 621 Plate Appearances, 566 At Bats, 77 Runs Scored, 132 Hits, 25 Doubles, 6 Triples, 3 Homeruns, 66 Runs Batted In, 21 Stolen Bases, 0 Caught Stealing, 31 Walks, 0 Strikeouts, 0 Intentional Walks, 1 Hit By Pitch, 24 Sacrifice Hits, 0 Sacrifice Flies, 0 Grounded Into Doubles, .234 Batting Average, .274 On Base Percentage, .312 Slugging Percentage, .586 On Base Percentage Plus Slugging Percentage, and 61 Adjusted On Base Percentage Plus Slugging Percentage. He retired from playing professional baseball after seventeen years. During World War II, he was drafted but he never served. He was inducted into the Greater New Orleans Sports Hall of Fame in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1980. He passed away in New Orleans, Louisiana, on October 25, 1995, at the age of 93. Following his death, he was buried in Holt Cemetery in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was married to Lillian Centmore Laurent (1917-2003). His wife Lillian survived him passing away in New Orleans, Louisiana, on September 5, 2003, at the age of 86, and she is also buried in Holt Cemetery in New Orleands, Louisiana. The couple had six children together, Anthony, Verdell, Floyd, Marva, Earl, and Harold.
