PERU - Doris B.K. Morrow, 95, of the Mitchell Road, Peru, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, at the Meadowbrook Healthcare, Plattsburgh.

She was born in Peru, May 20, 1913, the daughter of Fred and Catherine (Signor) Thew.

She graduated from Keeseville High School. Following High School, Doris received her LPN License. Doris will be remembered for all of the wonderful baked goods she provided to her family, friends and community. She was a caregiver to many people in the area through her continued baking, and she enlightened them with her musical ability in their home and the local nursing homes. Doris loved her music and her dancing. She belonged to the North Country Squares for 30 years or so. She played the organ for the Harkness United Methodist Church for more than 65 years.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald and wife, Sandy Banker, and Kenneth and wife, Dawn Banker, all of Peru; stepchildren: Ann Chien and husband, George of New Jersey, Larry Morrow and companion, Terry Elger of Florida, and Betty Rau of Connecticut; two grandsons, Kip Banker of New York, Jeff Banker and partner, Peter Felock of Pennsylvania; three granddaughters, Kim and husband, Earl Jefferson of the Capital Region, Rebecca and husband, Duane Godfrey of Peru and Lori and husband, David Marbut of Chile; step grandchildren, David and wife, Cheryl Chien of New York, Paul Chien of New Jersey, Judy Chien of Maryland, and Paul and wife, Thelma Raul of Vermont; five great-grandchildren, Curtis and Lynzee Banker, Patrick and Phyllip Marbut and Ava Godfrey; step great-grandchild, Jeannette Chien; and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents; husbands, Raymond Banker, Merritt Keese and Joseph G. Morrow Jr., Feb. 10, 2001; one sister, Viola Felio, Feb. 20, 1999; and twin brothers, Lester E. Thew, June 28, 1999, and Chester G. Thew, April 28, 2000; and stepson, Gordon (Sam) Keese.

At Doris's request there will be no public calling hours. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Harkness United Methodist Church with the Rev. Edie A. Poland, pastor, officiating. The Rev. Philip Allen, pastor of Holy Name Church in Au Sable Forks and St. Matthew's Church in Black Brook and the Rev. Henry Frueh, district superintendent, will assist. Burial will follow in the West Peru Cemetery.

The family requests donations in her memory may be made to the Harkness United Methodist Church or the West Peru Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the staff at CVPH, Valehaven, Meadowbrook and Dr. DeLucas for the wonderful care that was given to her.
