Beloved son, brother, cousin, nephew and friend, Abraham Nephi Barlow passed from this earth on December 4, 2020. Abe was the first born to Maryanne Nielsen and Samuel Barlow. After an 11-year wait, he arrived on October 26, 1996. Abe was a happy child, easy going and pleasant.

Abe was easy to love, unassuming and gentle, he offended no one and was loved by everyone. He did not seek the spotlight and did not like being fussed over. He was a responsible person, saved his money and worked hard, gaining his journeyman plumber's license in 2019.

He was a man of few words, but he was kind and treated others with an affability that was his trademark. He loved food and enjoyed cooking and eating together with his family. His appetite for food was only matched by his appetite for life. He loved working on his car, playing basketball and doing outdoor activities. He rarely passed up an opportunity to go fishing or hiking. Abe was especially close to several cousins who were more like brothers to him. Abe, Sam Barlow, Johnny Barlow and Brady Barlow spent many happy hours together.

In April of 2020, Abe was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer. He was determined to try anything and everything in his quest to overcome his illness. He was constantly researching new cures. After an unsuccessful treatment of radiation and chemotherapy, he began multiple regimens, including extreme diets, vitamin C infusion, light therapy, hyperbaric chamber treatments and many, many more. His symptoms continued to worsen over the months as he lost motor control over his body. Throughout his entire ordeal he was optimistic, patient and full of good humor. He was rushed to the hospital on November 8 for pneumonia. He was released a week later and spent his last three weeks at home lovingly cared for by his family. He expressed his gratitude many times a day and was full of love for his family. He finally succumbed to the pneumonia on the morning of December 4, 2020, passing peacefully, surrounded and held by his mother, father, brother and sisters.

He is survived by his parents, Sam Barlow and Maryanne Nielsen, his siblings, Lynnette, Nellie and Peter and his stepfamily, including Jim Cox and his 10 children.

There will be a viewing held on Friday December 11, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at 14055 South 1300 West in Bluffdale Utah. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday December 12, 2020 at 12 pm. Due to circumstances beyond our control, only immediate family will attend the Saturday service.
