Layton James Adkins Jr, 85, of Nashville TN passed away on December 13th, 2020.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 15th at Ellis Funeral Home 2627 Nolensville Pike Nashville TN 37211 from 4-8pm and Wednesday, December 16th at Spann Funeral Home 1961 Hwy 48 North Dickson TN 37055 from 4-8pm, as well as on Thursday, December 17th from 10am – until the time of services.

Funeral Services will be held at 12pm on Thursday, December 17th at Spann Funeral Home in Dickson TN with Dwayne Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Ragan Cemetery.

LJ was born in Erin TN to the late Layton and Birdie Adkins on April 22, 1935.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Marie Adkins, son James Woodrow Adkins (see Memorial #76163337), parents, 2 sisters and 3 brothers, and Mother of his children (see Memorial #150846005)

He is survived by Nancy Pinkerton (Ricky), Billy Adkins (Faye), Randy Overstreet (Elizabeth), Thomas Overstreet (Cindy), Larry Overstreet (Pebbles), Junior Overstreet (Paige), Brenda Selman, 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, 6 sisters and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family of Mr Adkins wish to extend our sincere gratitude to the incredible staff of Alive Hospice in Nashville- especially Charmella, Caren, and Elise.
