Brother Bruce Raymond Simmons, 71, of Pilot Mountain went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in Surry County on Sept. 8, 1936, to the late Samuel Lee and Nannie Collins Simmons. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and a helpful neighbor, but most of all a faithful servant of the Lord. He was the founder and Pastor of Tru-Way Baptist Church, which he loved so dearly, and retired after 22 years of service. Preceding him in death were his parents; and his wife, Lillie McHone Simmons. He is survived by three daughters, seveng grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Tru-Way Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1249, Pilot Mountain, NC.
