Thursday, Aug. 4, 2005, at Willis Knighton North Hospital in Shreveport.
Survivors include his wife, Janell Brooks of Many; two sons, Jay Brooks of Montgomery,
Ala., and J.W. Brooks of Merryville; three daughters, Patti Brooks Kirksey and husband
Malcolm of Conroe, Jackie Brooks of Conroe and Shelly Brooks Songer and husband Martin of Merryville; one brother, Ray Brooks of Kirbyville, Texas; three sisters, Lois McKee of Nederland, Texas, Nonie Jones of Keithville and Susie Gress of Shreveport; five grandchildren, three step-sons, seven step-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.
