William L. "Gus" Gustafson, 89 of Jackson Center and previously of Kane, PA, passed away on December 13, 2020 at St. Paul Homes in Greenville. Gus was born in Kane, PA on February 3, 1931 to the late Leroy and Amy (Anderson) Gustafson and was a 1949 graduate of Kane High School.

After high school Gus proudly served his Country in the United States Air Force During the Korean Conflict. He was stationed for two years at the Tazuke Air Force Base in Japan and was a Staff Sergeant in the Communications Squadron.

After his military service Gus began working for the Bell-Atlantic Telephone Company. He worked as a Switchman for 37 years until his retirement in 1990.

Gus was a lifetime member of the West Side Hose Co., Kane, PA. He also enjoyed reconnecting with his previous co-workers at company dinners, and enjoyed doing work around his house and yard work.

Gus married his beloved wife Mary Rose (Philson) Gustafson on May 19, 1975, she preceded him in death on February 5, 2018.

Gus is survived by his sons, Thomas and wife Lisa, Randall and wife Ruth, and Timothy and wife Kelly Gustafson, his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, whom he was very close with.

Gus was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Home, Stoneboro.

Funeral services will be private due to recent health concerns.

Interment will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Gus's name to the Lakeview Meals on Wheels, PO Box 548, Stoneboro, PA 16153.
