She was born Jan. 21, 1920, in Maquon to Harley and Ruth Pratt Smith. She was married to James Emory Bowers and also to Jess Richardson.
Surviving are one son, James Bowers of Bushnell; one daughter, Bertha Evans, and one brother, Harley Smith Jr., both of Reno, Nev.; two sisters, Georgia Cotton of Galesburg and Pauline Holloway of Reno; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great- grandchildren.
One daughter, Dixie, and one brother preceded her in death.
She was a self-employed beautician for 30 years until retiring. She was of the Methodist faith.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Watson Funeral Home. There will be no visitation. Cremation has been accorded, and burial of cremains will be in Maquon Cemetery.
