Wesley Lee Walton, age 80 of Obion, died Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Continue Care Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
He was born in Newbern April 25, 1940, the son of the late Ernest and Maud (Frazier) Walton. He was a retired maintance employee for the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Union City, a US Army Veteran serving from June 1963 until June 1965 and a member of the Oak Ridge Church of Christ.
Mr. Walton is survived by his wife Fay (Miller) Walton of Obion, three sons and their wives Michael and Christa Walton of Union City, Brad and Penny Walton of Troy and Donnie and Kelly Walton of Troy; two brothers Joe and Juanita Walton of Pawleys Island, SC and Wilbur and Jan Walton of Newbern; a sister Rebecca Butler of Bunea Vista, TN; six grandchildren Grant (Jessie) Walton, Garrett Walton, Blake (Tori) Walton, Tanner Walton, Tyler Walton and Carter Walton and one great grandchild Joshua Bradlee “J.B.” Walton.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Reed Walton and Ernest Mae Walton and three sisters Elizabeth Wilson, Louise Walton and Sue Williams.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM on Friday, December 18 at Cryer Funeral Home. Rick Knolls will officiate with burial to follow in the Elbridge Cemetery. Friends may call at Cryer Funeral Home from 11 AM until the hour of service at 2 PM.
Pallbearers will be Larry Miller, Ross Maldonado, Reed Walton, Jay Williams, Tim Williams and Bill Walton.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105. Please observe social distancing and wear a mask for your protection.
