ABELMAN, Herbert J. "Herb" Of Framingham, passed away August 21, 2018. He was predeceased by his wife of 75 years, Ruth H. (Borovoy) Abelman. He is survived by his son, Steve Abelman (Robin Holab-Abelman) and his daughter, Nancy White, granddaughters Sarah and Debbie and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lester Abelman.

Herb attended school in Boston and went to the University of North Carolina for one year. He served in the Army during World War II in Greenland and England. He was very involved in early computer systems during the war. He worked for several corporations doing information technology. He owned a franchise business before retirement. Herb and Ruth traveled extensively and he was an avid photographer.

Funeral services and shiva are private. Donations may be made to the Cheskis Scholarship Endowment Fund, Brandeis University, Office of Development, P.O. Box 549110, Waltham, MA 02454-9110 or the charity of your choice. Levine Chapels, Brookline is in charge of arrangements.
